Another week in paradise
Weeks are flying by as we all react to these changing circumstances in our own way. Some silly people are cleaning out their cupboards but most of the Apatcheez are taking advantage of the time by finishing off their UFO’s or perhaps starting new projects. Many have been shared on social media.
For those that don’t have Facebook or other platforms I thought you might like to have a look at some of the recent ‘finishes’.
Lesli may have been the star performer last month but this month she has been renovating so her yellow jersey has been passed – this time to Estelle who has shared the following projects –
Obviously sashiko has played a big part in Estelle’s ‘therapy’, and it looks great.
In the same vein next up Julia finished a quilt which has been in progress for a number of years. It’s nice when such a big project can finally be signed off.
Another big project is Robyne’s quilt – that is destined for her grandson Freddie. Hope he’s as impressed as us…
Some people have been working on the Cottage garden Threads Field Journal project and individual stitcheries keep popping up. I have been doing the same and have finished eleven of these which means I am up to date which is amazing in itself.
Sometimes a project needs a new skill and Michelle tackled a zipper to complete her peony Pouch hoop bag…
This inspired Vanessa to try her hand at adding a zipper to her Field Journal pouch – another victory –
Next it was Pat C’s turn to wow us with a new technique. She made this sewing basket with an amendment to the original design to make it even more practical
Once she saw how fabulous this item was she made more but with even more improvements. A button-covering device was recruited and…
Seemingly shortly afterwards, and utilising my favourite Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics…
If I told you that, thanks to a VERY generous Pat, I was now the proud owner of the one on the left would you be very very jealous?
Random acts of kindness continued this month with an anonymous sprite (who we all know as Pam) delivered these incognito…
There were many more photos of projects that are in progress but I’ll wait for the finished items for that ta-da moment. On the subject of photos – some of these might be a bit hazy. Now this is what I was given to work with! I might have to do a photography class when we get back to normal – just saying…..
If you’re feeling at a loss and don’t have a stash of fabric, or just want to inject some newness into that ho-hum, this fabric has arrived.
It’s called ‘A Stitch in Time‘ and has all the sewing essentials in one collection. It would be great for a sewing tote (where are you Pat?), a wall hanging in your sewing room or a cozy quilt for a sewing person like yourself.
Here are some other fabrics from the range –
Let me know if you think you deserve some new fabric in your life. Mother’s day is coming up after all!
Until then, happy quilting
